Family history is often made up of stories that are shared during conversations but never formally documented. Memories about childhood, grandparents, family traditions, old homes, and important life events can become difficult to recover as generations pass.
There are many simple ways to record family history. You can interview relatives, record their voices, scan old photographs, collect letters and documents, or create videos around important family memories. Even a short conversation with a grandparent can preserve details that may otherwise be forgotten.
I’m curious how other people are preserving their family stories. Do you prefer written family histories, audio recordings, videos, or a combination of different formats?
What is one family story or memory you think should be preserved for future generations?
